About this calculator
Age in years, months and days is calculated by comparing your date of birth to today's date, carrying over from months and years the same way you would count on a calendar — not just dividing total days by 365.
The day of the week you were born on and the countdown to your next birthday are both worked out from that same date.
Dates go in as day, month, year, in that order. The month is a dropdown of names rather than a number, so there is no chance of 03/04 being read as the 4th of March when you meant the 3rd of April.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find out what day of the week I was born?
Enter your date of birth and the calculator works it out from the calendar, along with your exact age and how long until your next birthday.
How is my exact age calculated?
By counting complete years from your birth date, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days — which is why it does not simply divide the total days by 365.
