Grade boundaries
About this calculator
A single score is converted to a percentage (Score ÷ Total × 100) and matched against editable grade boundaries.
The weighted average multiplies each assignment's percentage by its weight, sums those, and divides by the total weight used — so a 90% test worth 50% of your grade counts twice as much as a 90% homework worth 25%.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a weighted average grade?
Multiply each score by its weight, add those together, then divide by the total of the weights. A piece worth 60% of the module counts three times as heavily as one worth 20%.
What score do I need on the final to reach a target grade?
Work out how many weighted points you already have, subtract that from your target, and divide by the final's weight. Entering your marks so far in the weighted tab makes the gap easy to see.
